Immunization is a matter of national security, since the health of Ukrainians depends on vaccination coverage in the country. Vaccination should be, and always remains, a priority for the state and society. Spreading up-to-date, reliable information about immunization is part of this priority.
To better inform the public and promote routine vaccinations among children and adults, Ukraine has created the National Immunization Portal https://vaccine.org.ua/, which was symbolically launched on the eve of European Immunization Week 2023.
The portal was developed on the initiative of Fedir Lapii, Chair of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group, with the support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Institution “Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”. The National Immunization Portal is intended to become the national source of information on the immunization of children and adults for healthcare professionals and patients, following the example of similar portals in the USA and EU countries. The portal also expands opportunities for communication about the safety, effectiveness and use of vaccines among a wide community of patients, parents and public healthcare institutions.
