Cervical cancer

Cervical cancer. Why is it important to keep a close eye on your health after treatment?

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. It is a reminder to every woman of the importance of regular checkups and paying attention to her body. At the Sumy Regional Clinical Oncology Center, we stress that careful monitoring of your health after treatment is the key to detecting a recurrence early.

💡 Why is this important?

Cervical cancer can come back or spread after treatment has ended. You may be the first to notice warning signs, so regular self-monitoring is an important step in protecting your health.

❗️ Which symptoms may signal a recurrence or spread of cervical cancer?

  • Unusual vaginal discharge or bleeding
  • Blood in the urine or stool
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Pain in the pelvis, back, hips or legs
  • Cough, shortness of breath
  • Swelling of the abdomen or legs

What should you do?

  • Pay attention to your body
  • Attend your scheduled checkups
  • Do not put off seeing a doctor if you have suspicious symptoms

‼️ If you notice any of these symptoms, see a doctor immediately! Do not wait for your scheduled visit.
