🎗️ Testicular cancer: prevention starts with awareness
Testicular cancer is one of the most curable types of cancer, especially when detected early. It most often affects men aged 15 to 45, which is why it is so important to pay attention to your health even before any symptoms appear. This means not only a healthy lifestyle but also regular self-examination and seeing a doctor early.
🔎 5 steps to reduce your risk and detect cancer early:
1️⃣ Monthly self-examination.
Examine yourself once a month after a warm shower or bath. Carefully feel each testicle, paying attention to any changes: lumps, swelling, or changes in shape or size. ‼️ If you notice anything unusual, do not panic, but be sure to see a urologist.
2️⃣ Do not skip scheduled visits to the doctor.
Even if you have no complaints, it is worth having a checkup once a year. The earlier a problem is found, the easier it is to deal with.
3️⃣ Know your family history.
Testicular cancer in close relatives (especially a brother or father) is a sign that you should be especially vigilant.
4️⃣ Protect your genital area.
Avoid injuries, wear comfortable underwear and do not let your testicles overheat (frequent sauna visits, sitting with a laptop on your lap and tight clothing can all have a negative effect).
5️⃣ Look after your general health.
Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, and giving up smoking and alcohol are not only general cancer prevention but also a way to take care of your health as a man.
Testicular cancer is not a death sentence. When it is detected early, more than 95% of patients recover completely.
