Today we are sharing the story of Tetiana Supruniuk, a monitoring and evaluation specialist at the Center, who donated blood for the first time.
“I had been thinking about donating blood for a long time. I made up my mind because a colleague from my department supported me. It’s not so scary when you do it together,” said Tetiana Supruniuk. “I understand that donation is a useful thing to do. Besides, it doesn’t take any effort on my part. I plan to keep donating blood, and maybe I’ll even get some of my friends involved.”
Every few seconds, someone in the world needs blood. It is voluntary, regular blood donation that saves millions of lives every year. In Ukraine, the number of donors is decreasing because of the pandemic. Overall, 70% of donors give blood only once in their lives.
Taking part in the flash mob is easy:
- Become a blood donor by 19 June inclusive.
- Take a photo that shows you donating blood. Post it on your Facebook page with the hashtag #yaDonor or #yaDonorka (“I am a donor”)
- For the duration of the contest, make your page public to all Facebook users.
