Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in the world and one of the leading causes of cancer death. Every year, this disease claims nearly a million lives, but with timely diagnosis, 90% of patients with stage I disease are cured.
🔹 Worldwide: 1.93 million new cases and 930,000 deaths every year.
🔹 Ages 50–75 are the main risk group.
🔹 Stages 1–2: more than 90% of cases are successfully cured, while with late diagnosis the chances drop sharply.
💡 Throughout March, we will tell you about:
✅ Prevention: a healthy diet, physical activity, and giving up smoking and alcohol reduce the risk of CRC.
✅ Diagnosis: a fecal occult blood test (once every 2 years) and colonoscopy (once every 5 years after age 50).
✅ Screening programs: free diagnostics with a doctor's referral under the Program of Medical Guarantees.
✅ Symptoms: changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, weight loss, blood in the stool — a reason to see a doctor right away!
✅ Surgical treatment: modern minimally invasive surgical techniques used at the Oncology Center.
🛡 Early diagnosis saves lives!
