Testicular cancer is a group of rare malignancies that accounted for only 0.5% of new cancer cases in 2020. The global incidence of testicular cancer in 2020 was 0.8% of new cases. The U.S. National Cancer Institute estimates that about 9,300 new cases of testicular cancer were diagnosed in 2020.
Testicular cancer most often affects young and middle-aged men, with more than two-thirds of cases diagnosed in men aged 20–44 (the average age at diagnosis is 33). In many developed countries, testicular cancer is the most common malignancy in men of this age group.
Remember: testicular cancer is a cancer of young people (most patients are 18–35 years old), and it is curable when detected at an early stage. That is why it is so important to spread information about this disease in society and to take an active stand during Testicular Cancer Awareness Month!
