On 18 March 2026, the Sumy Regional Clinical Oncology Center hosted a scientific and practical conference for primary care doctors.
The event covered the following topics:
▶️ “Patient routing in line with the 2026 Program of Medical Guarantees (PMG)”
Speaker: V. V. Shevchenko, PhD (Medicine), Director of the Oncology Center
▶️ “Primary and secondary prevention of cervical cancer”
Speaker: D. H. Sumtsov, PhD (Medicine), Head of the gynecologic oncology department
The conference focused on key aspects of early cancer detection, correct patient routing and modern approaches to treatment. It is the primary care doctor who plays a decisive role in timely diagnosis, since the patient’s further pathway and prognosis depend on the doctor’s alertness and clear actions.
Events like this are an important part of doctors’ continuing professional development and of stronger cooperation between levels of care, which directly affects the quality and effectiveness of treatment.
Participants also had the opportunity to see the center’s new gynecologic oncology department, a modern unit that combines innovative treatment approaches, multidisciplinary collaboration and comfortable conditions for patients.
Thank you to all participants for their active involvement and professional dialogue!
🔹 A series of upcoming conferences will be announced soon.
