World-class surgical oncology for Sumy Region residents at the Oncology Center!
For the first time in our region, the latest video endoscopic equipment, the TIPCAM®1 RUBINA ™ by KARL STORZ for visualizing metastatic lymph nodes, was tested at the Oncology Center during surgery on a patient with synchronous uterine and breast cancer. This camera provides 3D images in 4K quality. There are only two such cameras in Ukraine! The entire operation was broadcast online, so viewers could follow it in real time and ask questions. Modern ICG technology was used in gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology operations. During surgery, a fluorescent contrast agent is injected to mark sentinel lymph nodes in cancer. This allows the surgeon to see a complete lymphatic map during the operation and remove tumor-affected tissue and metastases more precisely; it makes surgery less traumatic for patients and allows the surgeon to perform a more radical operation. The use of ICG technology is the “gold standard” in surgical cancer treatment worldwide. An event of this scale and level became possible thanks to close cooperation between medical institutions and the participation of highly qualified specialists. The gynecologic oncologists and surgical oncologists of our center gained unique surgical experience that they will use every day in treating cancer. We give patients access to affordable, highly qualified medical care at the Oncology Center.
