“Thanks to you, I can live. Be with my loved ones. Enjoy ordinary days.”

Perhaps no thanks means more to a medical worker than these words. Not all patients are ready to talk about their journey: the fear, the treatment, the difficult moments and the people who were by their side. But today one of our patients decided to share her story. And it is yet another reminder of why this work is done every day. Behind the shifts, the difficult decisions and the sleepless nights lies what matters most: someone's life going on. Someone's return home. Someone's chance to hug their loved ones again. May there be as many such stories as possible. Happy Medical Workers' Day to all healthcare workers!
