Department doctors

Urologic oncology care is provided on an outpatient and inpatient basis.

In the outpatient follow-up department, patients are seen in rooms 231 and 232.

The urologic oncology unit is part of surgical oncology department No. 1, on the third floor of the inpatient building.

Urologic oncology patients occupy 20 of the department’s beds.

The department provides the following care for urologic cancers:

Kidney cancer:

  • Open radical nephrectomy
  • Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy
  • Partial nephrectomy (kidney resection: the tumor is removed and the kidney is preserved)
  • Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy
  • Kidney biopsy

Bladder cancer:

  • Open bladder resection
  • Transurethral resection of the bladder (TURB)
  • Radical cystectomy (removal of the bladder)
  • Bladder biopsy
  • Cystostomy

Prostate cancer:

  • Radical prostatectomy
  • Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP)
  • Ultrasound-guided multifocal prostate biopsy

Testicular cancer:

  • Orchifuniculectomy
  • Testicular resection (the tumor is removed and the testicle is preserved)
  • Testicular biopsy

Penile cancer:

  • Penectomy (removal of the penis)
  • Partial penectomy
  • Circumcision

Reconstructive operations:

  • Boari flap operation
  • Psoas hitch
  • Ureteral reimplantation (antireflux)
  • Bladder augmentation (enlargement)
  • Placement of artificial testicular implants
  • Ureteral resection
  • Ureteral replacement with a bowel segment

Care is provided by two doctors who work in both the inpatient unit and the outpatient follow-up department.
