Anesthesiology and intensive care department with operating unit

The anesthesiology and intensive care department provides all types of general anesthesia, including multicomponent intravenous anesthesia based on propofol using modern B. Braun infusion pumps and syringe pumps, as well as regional anesthesia (prolonged epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia and nerve blocks).

The department’s mechanical ventilators are modern models: Utas Uvent S-T, VG-70 and EH330.

Low-flow anesthesia with sevoflurane is also performed, using Leon inhalation anesthesia machines and an OES Medical Cygnus anesthesia workstation.

During anesthesia, the patient’s vital functions (oximetry, noninvasive blood pressure, capnometry) are always monitored with Utas UM 300 and GE Dash 3000 monitors.

The department’s specialists provide intensive care to patients after complex, combined surgical procedures and to patients with postoperative complications, prescribing the appropriate treatment.

The intensive care ward has 6 beds and is equipped with patient monitors and mechanical ventilators. Laboratory tests, including electrolytes and blood gases, can be performed on a modern laboratory analyzer.

The equipment in the operating unit makes it possible to perform surgery of varying complexity.

Laparoscopic operations in gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology, performed with Karl Storz laparoscopic equipment, play an important role. Thoracoscopy, mediastinoscopy and hysteroresectoscopy are also performed.

Complex, combined operations are possible thanks to modern electrosurgical equipment: Bowa medical ARC400, ARC Plus, Svarmed EK-300M and Patonmed EKVZ-300.

The operating unit is equipped with a modern ventilation system, Silbermann and Megasan ceiling pendants, and KLS Martin surgical lights.
